FAQS

WHAT IS STAR AESTHETICS RETURN POLICY?

Return policy is 2 weeks unopened. If you have an allergic reaction to a product then please contact me via email at April@SkinStar.biz with an image of effected area. Once this is received Star Aesthetics will accept return of that product.

WHAT IS STAR AESTHETICS SHIPPING RATE?

Sircuit Skin Cosmeceuticals is $9.50 flat rate. Modvellum Clinical is a flat rate of $12.80. Hale & Hush is $4.50 to $8.50 depending on weight. Since cherry picking from these different lines isn't ideal 90% of the time anyway, you can save money by ordering all from one line. OR you can look at this way: If these 3 lines weren't all in one online store, you'd be placing more than one order/paying shipping more than once anyway.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DRUG STORE, DEPARTMENT STORE, GROCERY STORE PRODUCTS AND PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS?

This will really narrow it down for you and take all the overwhelmed feelings out of your choosing process. First and foremost, put drug store skin care, department store and grocery store skin care all in one box in your mind and set it aside. The difference between that box and professional products is the active ingredients in that box are not legally allowed to be as strong and the delivery vehicles for those active ingredients are not as advanced. Those products tend to have lower quality ingredients, more toxicity and less efficacy. More money goes into marketing, packaging, supermodels and shelf real-estate than it does into the quality of the chemistry. With pro products much more money goes into the chemistry, yielding healthier and more effective chemistry. If the person selling you the products doesn't have to have a license to sell the products I'd walk quietly the other way.

WHAT MAKES YOUR PRODUCT LINES STAND ABOVE THE REST IN THE PROFESSIONAL SKIN CARE CATEGORY?

Organic as is possible • vegetarian always • vegan when possible • 100% chirally correct • no artificial fragrances • no dyes • no talc • no buffers • non-toxic • propylene glycol free • paraben free • hydroquinone free • sodium lauryl sulfate free • non-comedogenic plant sourced • gluten free when possible • 100% biodegradable/bioavailable • technician strength • Made in an FDA registered lab! Oh and don't forget Made-Better Certified, NOP Certified, concentrate, BPA free and cruelty-free.

Then you have Hale & Hush's unique chemistry! * Products for sensitive and health-challenged skin®. Other brands may claim one or two products for sensitive skin. Only Hale & Hush offers everything your current or future clients with sensitive and health challenged skin want in their skincare products. Also 100% chirally correct!

WHAT DOES CHIRALLY CORRECT MEAN?

Chiral Correction simply means that these ingredients have been purified at the molecular level, increasing the level of communication or bond which in turn, helps to improve the overall effectiveness of the particular Chiral ingredient used while also helping to reduce the chance of adverse reactions for our clients. In other words, using the right form of the particular ingredient matters. Just because an ingredient is organic does not mean it's 100% safe so chirally correcting ensure all organic molecules can be read by our receptor sites, making the molecule friendlier and more effective. Sircuit Skin Cosmeceuticals, Modvellum Clinical and Hale & Hush are the only lines doing 100% chiral correction as well as:

Organic when possible • vegetarian always • vegan when possible • chirally correct • no artificial fragrances • no dyes • no talc • no buffers • non-toxic • propylene glycol free • parabens free • hydroquinone free • sodium lauryl sulfate free • non-comedogenic plant sourced • gluten free when possible • 100% biodegradable • technician strength • Made in an FDA registered lab

Then you have Hale & Hush's unique chemistry! * Products for sensitive and health-challenged skin®. Health challenged skin is surprisingly reactive and temperamental so as conscious as my other two lines are, Hale & Hush has much more success in this context. Other brands may claim one or two products for sensitive skin. Only Hale & Hush offers everything your current or future clients with sensitive skin want in their skincare products.

IF I CANNOT AFFORD TO DO BOTH FACIALS AND HOME CARE, WHICH DO YOU RECOMMEND?

If the budget doesn't allow for both, always, always, always do great pro-strength home care! It's the chemistry on your skin for hours a day and night that does the most work for you. Modvellum Clinical's Dr. Peelgood, and Modmatrix sleeping mask is a wonderful 1x per wk treatment you can put to work for you. This is MUCH better than doing nothing if you can't do facials. If I never see you for a facial, employing daily and nightly chemistry from any one of these 3 fabulous lines sold in my store, for the rest of your life is THE best possible home care you can practice. Then bring on monthly super boost facials when you can. I believe this with my whole heart after 19 years in the industry and training with 18 different professional lines. I know everyone says their line is the best but the lab I source from is the only lab in the country doing this level of chemistry that I can find. I believe these lines really and truly ARE the most effective skin care lines, while still being responsible, or I would not still be in the industry.

CAN I CHERRY PICK PRODUCTS FROM THE DIFFERENT LINES ON YOUR STORE?

Yes you can! It's not ideal with the exception of a few regimes for certain skin types. Modvellum Clinical, for example, does not make an SPF or eye cremes so you'll want to order those from Hale & Hush or Sircuit Skin Cosmeceuticals. Otherwise if you really want to cherry pick, I would ask for guidance first by scheduling a free skin care consult in my office or by texting/emailing me images and details of your skin conditions at April@SkinStar.biz. I'll get back to your guidance request as fast as possible. Otherwise you can also refer to guidance under "What Skin Type Do I Have?" down below. There are product recommendations there.

WHAT IS A FITZPATRICK SKIN CLASSIFICATION?

So your Fitzpatrick classification is not a skin "TYPE". It is just a way to understand level of melanin production to prevent hyper-pigmentation from occurring due to wrong use of products or professional treatments. The classification known as the Fitzpatrick skin type (or phototype), named after Thomas B. Fitzpatrick, depends on the amount of melanin pigment in the skin. This is determined by genetic colour (white, brown or black skin) and the result of exposure to ultraviolet radiation (tanning). Pale or white skin burns easily and tans slowly and poorly: it needs more protection against sun exposure. Darker skin burns less and tans more easily. It is also more prone to develop post inflammatory pigmentation after injury (brown marks).

Fitz

Class

Typical features Tanning ability
I Pale white skin, blue/green eyes, blond/red hair Always burns, does not tan
II Fair skin, blue eyes Burns easily, tans poorly
III Darker white skin Tans after initial burn
IV Light brown skin Burns minimally, tans easily
V Brown skin Rarely burns, tans darkly easily
VI Dark brown or black skin Never burns, always tans darkly

CAN I USE YOUR PRODUCTS IF I HAVE A DARKER FITZPATRICK SKIN CLASSIFICATION?

YES! Darker skin genetics are more prone to post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation so chirality has proven to be very helpful in my practice. Fitzpatricks 1-6 are safe with my skin care lines but 4-6 really should always stick with this caliber of chemistry! There's no unhealthy offense to the skin so darker skins, can enter into a regime easier than other skin care lines. Meaning 4-6 weeks of home care prep before in house treatments is not nearly as necessary.
Having said that it's always better to er on the side of caution so my advice for all Fitzpatricks is to ease into acids and Retinols. Product with lactic, salicylic and/or Glycolic, start with every 3 nights for the first 2 weeks, then ease into every other night and stay there. For retinol products, start 1 time a week for 2 weeks, then 2 x a week for 2 weeks and so on until you've moved up to every other night. Skin needs TIME to adjust to vitamin A. Can use acids and Retinols on the same night if not too sensitive.

The only 3 lines in the industry practicing such a high caliber of 100% chiral, as sustainable as is possible, yet professional strength chemistry from the same FDA registered lab. • Modvellum Clinical Artifact Exfoliating Wash $29-$39.50 1-2 nights per wk OR Sircuit Skin Sir Activ Zeolite Invigorating Scrub 1-2 nights per wk $48.00 (Gentle Exfoliating Scrub is a priority)
    • Hale & Hush Rare C Serum $51.95 , Vital Lipid Lotion $49.95 and Broad Spectrum SPF 30 $31.95 in the AM   (Vital Lipid Lotion and SPF are priorities)
    • Hale & Hush Soothe Essence Serum $39.95 (Priority)
    • Hale & Hush Saffron Merristem Cream $49.95 PM (Can also just use Vital Lipid at night but Saffron Merristem Cream is thicker and works on reducing redness from a different angle while sleeping)
    • Hale & Hush Rare Retinal Serum $59.95 every 2-3 nights under Vital Lipid Lotion.
    • Hale & Hush Eye Mousse AM & PM $38.50  (Priority)
    • Bonus booster products would be Hale & Hush's Hush Hydrate Gel/Mask $36.00 with Hale & Hush Relief Biopowder $35.95 mixed into gel/mask. 1x per wk. OR Modvellum Clinical's Dr. Peelgood and Modmatrix sleeping mask. Peels and masks have to be used together. Peel first, mask second.
    • (For added collagen stimulation and texture improvement, incorporate Rare C serum first, then Rare Retinal. "Priorities" are for pollution control, some anti-aging, and barrier protection. For skin type 9 with hyperpigmentation, add Modvellum Clinical Luminous serum nightly.)

Skin Type 9 excited about Modvellum Clinical? Regime is:

    • Modvellum Clinical Antidotum Gentle Wash $29-$39.50 AM/PM (Priority)
    • Modvellum Clinical Antidotum Spray On Moisture $36-$49.00 AM/PM (Priority)
    • Modvellum Clinical Artifact - Exfoliating Wash $29.00-$39.50 1-2 nights per week
    • Modvellum Clinical Antidotum Day & Night Moisture $29-$59.00 AM
    • Hale & Hush Broad Spectrum SPF 30 $31.95 AM over moisturizer (Modvellum does not make SPFs) (Priority)
    • Modvellum Clinical Sustenance Cream $250.00 PM (Priority. If you buy only priorities then you will use this Sustenance AM/PM but you'll dilute this down with Spray On Moisture during the day to lighter consistency)
    • Hale & Hush Eye Mousse $38.50 AM/PM (Modvellum does not make eye creams)
    • (For added collagen stimulation, brightening, or smoothing you can add Rare C Serum & Rare Retinal Serum from Hale & Hush or Luminous Serum from ModVellum once your skin cells are stronger and healthier from above regime. I'd say about 4-6 weeks in)
